Vinyasa Krama Yoga is the method practiced and taught by the Indian Yoga master, Sri T. Krishnamacharaya. It is a practice to cultivate Harmony in the person and its method is faithful to the ancient Yoga tradition. Vinyasa Krama is the art and science of combining the elements od Yoga in a sequence that makes an effective and safe practice. It uses numerous variations of each posture in a logical sequence to fully explore the possibilities of the body and attain the calassical goals of Yoga, steadiness and comfort. Each variation si linked to the next with transitional movements, the whole practice is synchronized with deep ujjayi breathing. Each posture can be gradually accessed through the easier vinyasas and the slowly mastered by moving through all the variations. In this way the body is taken to health and freedom in a gentle process, without force or strain. In the process the breath and mind also undergo a transformation. Optimum health is possible through regular Yoga practice although the paradigm is very different from the convential appraoch to exercise. Mental peace and attention, can lead, ultimately, to spiritual freedom, the fulfilling culmination of the Yogis dedicated practice.
